A 22-year-old Chapel Hill woman was charged with larceny at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday at 121 E. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Sofie Lynn Johnson was arrested after she attempted to steal a pair of silver earrings worth $16 and a jade necklace worth $20 from Light Years, reports state.

More than 100 medical satudents and their family members crowded into the Old Clinic Auditorium of Bondurant Hall on Thursday to receive envelopes with their future plans enclosed.

Somebody pried open a window to enter a residence and stole nearly $1,500 in items between 9:01 p.m. Saturday and 10:34 a.m. Sunday at 316 McMasters St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Items stolen include a $340 Wii game system, a $50 jewelry box, $1,000 worth of jewelry, some of it designer, and $57 in cash, reports state.
